O Conselho Mundial de Igrejas (CMI) é a maior e mais representativa das muitas expressões organizadas do Movimento Ecumênico moderno, cujo objetivo é a unidade dos cristãos. O CMI reúne 349 igrejas, denominações e comunidades de igrejas em mais de 110 países e territórios de todo o mundo que representam mais de 560 milhões de cristãos, incluindo a maioria das igrejas ortodoxas, grande número de igrejas anglicanas, batistas, luteranas, metodistas e reformadas, assim como muitas igrejas unidas e independentes. Embora a maioria das igrejas fundadoras do CMI tenham sido europeias e norte-americanas, hoje a maior parte está na África, na Ásia, no Caribe, na América Latina, no Oriente Médio e no Pacífico.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) is the broadest and most representative among the many organized expressions of the modern Ecumenical Movement, a movement whose goal is Christian unity. The WCC brings together 349 churches, denominations and church communities in more than 110 countries and territories throughout the world, representing over 560 million Christians and including most of the world's Orthodox churches, many of Anglican, Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist and Reformed churches, as well as many United and Independent churches. While most of the WCC's founding churches were European and North American, today most member churches are in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East and the Pacific.

The library at the Ecumenical Centre contains more than 120,000 volumes, 1300 specialized periodicals, some over a century old, and more than 12,000 boxes of archives containing around 20 million irreplaceable documents. It serves as a centre for ecumenical study and research, as well as preserving the historical memory of the ecumenical movement.
